A deadly gas leak at a fertilizer plant in Sangli, Maharashtra, on November 21, 2024, resulted in the death of three workers and left nine others injured. The incident occurred due to a malfunction in one of the plant's reactors, causing toxic gases to escape into the surrounding area. Emergency teams quickly responded, and the injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to initial reports, the workers died from the inhalation of toxic fumes. The authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the leak, with some speculating that safety measures at the plant may have been inadequate. Local officials have expressed concern over the safety standards in industrial plants across the region, which has faced several similar incidents in recent years.
