According to the sources of Bangladesh's fire department and administration, a fire broke out in that building at 1:50 pm on Wednesday. 8 fire engines reached the spot after receiving information about the fire in building number 7 of the secretariat. As the fire spread further, more engines were dispatched to bring it under control. 19 fire units brought the fire under control at 8:05 am on Thursday. He said that it was not known how the fire started till 9 am.
In the building where fire occurs, youth and sports, telecommunications and information technology, local government, rural development and cooperatives, labour and employment; There are offices of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges. Fire officials said the cause of the fire is being investigated. However, eight and nine floors were the worst affected by the fire in the secretariat building. It is believed that various documents there may have been damaged by burning.
On the other hand, a firefighter died in an accident while trying to control the fire. The deceased's name is Sohanuzzaman Nayan. The fire department worker was crossing the road with a pipe to connect the line from the water pump. At that time a car hit him. When he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, doctors declared Nayan brought dead.
