BJP Allegations Against Mamata Banerjee Spark Political Storm in Bengal
Kolkata - West Bengal's political landscape has once again been rocked by controversy. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar has accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of manipulating voter lists by removing Hindu voters and adding fake ones. According to him, this is a deliberate strategy by the Trinamool Congress to secure its vote bank.
BJP alleges that in several areas, genuine voters’ names are being removed, while suspicious names are being added. Majumdar stated, "Mamata Banerjee is systematically trying to exclude Hindu voters. This is a dangerous conspiracy against democracy."
This accusation has triggered strong political reactions. BJP has urged the Election Commission to intervene in the matter. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has dismissed the claims as baseless.
Opposition leaders argue that voter list revisions are being misused for political gains. However, an independent investigation would be necessary to verify the truth behind these allegations.
With the upcoming state elections, this issue is likely to escalate further. However, one thing is clear—the BJP’s attack has put Mamata Banerjee’s government under significant pressure.
