Bangladesh Energy Advisor Lauds Indian Petroleum Strategy Amid Bilateral Tensions
Dhaka- In a recent visit to India, Bangladesh's Energy Advisor, Mohammad Faujulul Kabir Khan, praised India's diverse energy portfolio, emphasizing its key role in meeting the country's vast energy needs. He pointed out that India's broad reliance on various energy sources is a strategic approach, necessary for managing its significant demand.
Khan also spoke about the ongoing challenges in India-Bangladesh relations, expressing hope that the current phase of tensions would pass and that the nations would restore ties based on mutual respect and equality. His remarks highlight the importance of keeping relations friendly despite any obstacles.
This visit comes at a time when energy cooperation between the two countries is intensifying. Over the past three months, Adani Power has been supplying half of Bangladesh’s electricity needs. The country aims to ramp up its supply from Adani before the summer season. However, there have been challenges, including a recent request for Adani to fully resume supplies from its Jharkhand plant after a period of reduced output caused by lower winter demand and payment issues.
Khan's positive outlook on India-Bangladesh relations underscores the importance of energy partnerships in maintaining stable ties between neighboring countries, despite existing challenges.
