Chaos at Kumbh: Passengers Stone Special Trains Amid Locked Doors
Uttarpradesh - In a startling turn of events, passengers en route to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj resorted to stone-throwing at special trains after discovering the doors locked. The incidents unfolded at Chhatarpur and Harpalpur railway stations in Madhya Pradesh, where devotees, eager to partake in the sacred 'amrit snan' on Mauni Amavasya, found themselves locked out of overcrowded trains.
Videos circulating on social media depict agitated passengers pelting stones at train doors and attempting to force entry. At Chhatarpur, a passenger named RK Singh expressed frustration over being unable to board a Prayagraj-bound train due to closed doors and windows. Despite the Government Railway Police (GRP) intervening to open the doors, the train's capacity was already exceeded, leaving many stranded.
In response to these disturbances, authorities have pledged to implement stricter security measures to prevent future incidents. Manoj Kumar Singh, the public relations officer for the Jhansi railway division, emphasized the need for coordinated efforts with local administration to ensure passenger cooperation and maintain order.
This episode underscores the critical need for effective crowd management and transparent communication during large-scale events like the Maha Kumbh. Ensuring that passengers are well-informed about train schedules and capacities can prevent such disruptions and uphold the sanctity of this revered gathering.
