Delhi BJP Faces Leadership Chaos After Historic Election Victory

Delhi - In a political upheaval, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has clinched a decisive victory in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, securing 48 out of 70 seats and ending the Aam Aadmi Party's decade-long reign. However, the triumph is marred by internal discord over the selection of the new Chief Minister, leading to a postponed decision and a brewing leadership crisis within the party.  

The BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years is a significant milestone, yet the delay in appointing a Chief Minister has sparked speculation and concern. Sources suggest a factional rift, with some leaders advocating for a seasoned politician, while others push for a fresh face from the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). This indecision not only hampers the formation of a stable government but also raises questions about the party’s internal cohesion.  

Adding fuel to the fire, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has challenged the BJP’s yet-to-be-named candidate to a public debate, criticizing the party’s hesitation in revealing its leadership choice. His bold move aims to capitalize on the BJP’s apparent disarray, positioning himself and AAP as vigilant opposition ready to hold the new government accountable.
