EPFO Revolution: Transfer Your PF and Update Details Without Employer Hassle!

Delhi - In a significant move to enhance user experience, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced two pivotal changes:

1. Self-Managed EPF Transfers

Members can now transfer their Provident Fund (PF) accounts independently, eliminating the need for employer intervention. This change streamlines the process, allowing for quicker and more efficient transfers.

2. Direct Personal Detail Updates

Updating personal information such as name, date of birth, and marital status is now possible without employer verification. Members with a Universal Account Number (UAN) issued after October 1, 2017, can make these changes directly through the EPFO portal, ensuring data accuracy and reducing administrative delays.

Impact on Members

These reforms are expected to significantly reduce processing times and administrative burdens. For instance, in the fiscal year 2024-25, approximately 45% of correction requests were pending due to employer verification. With the new system, these can be self-approved, expediting the process.
