From Laughter to Legal Battles: The India Got Latent Controversy Unfolds
Delhi - In a dramatic turn of events, the popular YouTube show "India's Got Latent" has been thrust into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The controversy ignited when YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, posed an inappropriate question during a recent episode, leading to widespread public outrage and legal repercussions.
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell swiftly registered an FIR against over 30 individuals associated with the show, including Allahbadia and host Samay Raina, citing the use of "vulgar and obscene" language. Similarly, the Assam Police filed a case against the involved parties for allegedly promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions.
In response to the mounting backlash, Samay Raina announced the removal of all "India's Got Latent" episodes from his YouTube channel, expressing that the situation had become "too much to handle." He emphasized that his sole intention was to entertain and pledged full cooperation with the investigating agencies.
The legal saga escalated to the Supreme Court, where Allahbadia sought consolidation of the multiple FIRs and protection from arrest. The apex court granted interim relief but imposed a directive prohibiting Allahbadia and his associates from airing any shows until further notice.
