Fuel Tragedy in Nigeria: 86 Lives Lost in Tanker Explosion

Abuja - In Niger State, Nigeria, an overturned gasoline tanker led to a catastrophic explosion, claiming the lives of 86 people and injuring 55 others. Residents, drawn to the scene in an attempt to collect the leaking fuel, were caught in the inferno. The tragedy highlights a grim reality in the region, where desperation often leads individuals to risk their lives for a resource as vital as fuel.  

Recurring Disasters in Fuel-Scarce Nigeria

This devastating explosion is not an isolated incident. Nigeria has witnessed several similar disasters in recent years, with fuel tankers turning into death traps for those hoping to benefit from the spillage.
