Uttar Pradesh - Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, is in Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the world’s largest religious gathering. Known for her philanthropic endeavors, Powell Jobs is stepping into the realm of spirituality, joining millions of devotees at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers.

Powell Jobs has immersed herself in Kalpvas, a Hindu spiritual discipline that requires renunciation of modern comforts for meditation and rituals. Kalpvasis, including Powell Jobs, live in temporary tents, perform holy dips in the sacred rivers, and engage in spiritual discourses. This ancient practice is rooted in self-purification and spiritual growth.

During her stay, Powell Jobs is under the guidance of Swami Kailashanand Giri, Mahamandaleshwar of the Niranjani Akhara. She has been given the spiritual name ‘Kamla’ and has actively participated in various rituals, embracing the ethos of the event.
