Maha Kumbh 2025 Will Unite Millions or Unravel Under Pressure

Uttar Pradesh - The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj is set to be the largest religious gathering in history, with an estimated 400 million devotees expected to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called the event a grand celebration of unity, emphasizing its deep cultural and spiritual significance.  

To accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims, the government has invested ₹5,500 crore in 167 development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, sanitation, and transportation. Among the innovations is an AI-powered chatbot designed to assist visitors and improve communication during the event.  

However, concerns over safety loom large. A recent stampede resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, highlighting the challenges of managing such an enormous crowd. Witnesses described how overcrowding led to chaos, with pleas for better crowd control going unanswered.
