Mayawati Announces BSP Will Not Contest In any By-Elections, Explained why

Uttar Pradesh:- In Uttar Pradesh by-elections and Maharashtra assembly elections BSP lost the battle very badly. After seeing the results of the polls Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati expressed her anger also. After that on Sunday, Mayawati made a major announcement. She has announced that her party will refrain from contesting any upcoming by-elections. Besides, the BSP leader also attacked the Election Commission by raising questions about EVMs.
Mayawati alleged that the EVMs were rigged. And her party has become a victim. That is why the result of the team was not good. The BSP leader also expressed anger that the Election Commission did not take any initiative to prevent vote rigging. After this, she announced that his party will not participate in any by-election till the Election Commission does not take strict measures to prevent misuse of govt machinery in these elections, like it was done in UP.
She stated that, "Earlier it was the ballot paper which was used for bogus voting and now it is the EVM which is being misused,"

BSP fielded candidates in all 9 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh by-elections. But the candidate of Mayawati's party did not win any seats. Even in some constituencies, BSP candidates got as many as 1,000 votes. The same situation happened to BSP in this year's Lok Sabha elections. She said that her party, however, will continue to contest general elections to Lok Sabha, legislative assemblies and local bodies as chances of misusing govt machinery are minimal as the administrative officers fear change of power.
