Panic on the Tracks: Maharashtra Train Tragedy Claims Multiple Lives
Jalgaon, Maharashtra– In a heart-wrenching incident on January 22, 2025, a tragic sequence of events led to the loss of at least eight lives near Pardhade railway station in Jalgaon district.
The Spark of Panic
The Pushpak Express, en route to Mumbai, made an unscheduled halt near Pardhade station due to ongoing track maintenance. During this pause, sparks were observed, leading to a rapid spread of rumors about a fire onboard. Fearing for their safety, approximately 30 to 35 passengers activated the emergency chain and disembarked onto the adjacent tracks.
A Fatal Misstep
Tragically, as these passengers stood on the parallel tracks, the Karnataka Express approached at high speed. Unaware of the individuals on the tracks, the train struck them, resulting in the immediate deaths of at least eight passengers and causing severe injuries to several others.

Emergency services, including medical teams, promptly arrived at the scene to provide aid and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. Central Railway authorities emphasized that the primary focus is on delivering medical assistance to the victims.
