Dhaka - In a controversial move, Hasnat Abdul Hye, the leader of Bangladesh's newly formed political party, has urged Muslim clerics to speak out against India, citing an alleged "conspiracy" against Bangladesh. His remarks reflect a concerning shift in political discourse, where India is increasingly portrayed as an adversary rather than a regional partner.  

Bangladesh and India share deep historical, economic, and cultural ties. While differences exist, diplomatic dialogue, not inflammatory rhetoric, should guide bilateral relations. Political leaders must act responsibly, ensuring that their statements do not fuel unnecessary tensions or radical sentiments.  

Such remarks risk fostering anti-India sentiment among the masses, which could have broader implications for trade, security, and regional stability. Instead of resorting to divisive narratives, political leaders should focus on constructive policies that benefit both nations.
