Space Docking experiment, ISRO says, of PSLV C60 launched successfully

Srihari Kota - Indian space research organization ISRO made another long jump into space. The PSLV-C60 rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Research Center in Srihari Kota at around 10 pm on Monday. This launch is called the 'Space Docking Experiment'. ISRO's success in this mission is crucial for India's future development of its own space station in space and the success of Chandrayaan 4.

It is known that PSLV-C60 has two spacecraft as its main payload. The first one is Spadex 1 (Chaser) and the second is Spadex 2 (Target). There are also 24 pollards. These two vehicles will be launched into a fixed orbit in space. Later, the target will be captured by the chaser, i.e. docking. The satellite has a robotic arm that will pull the target towards itself via a hook. The future of ISRO's many future missions depends on the success of this mission.

Regarding this mission, ISRO chief S Somnath said, it consists of 5 modules which will be released at different times in a specific space. And then they will be docked. This docking process will continue in the orbit of the Moon as well as the Earth. This mission is crucial to the mission of Chandrayaan 4. In that mission, we will land on the moon and come back to the earth. There are many small steps in this campaign. Notable among which is docking.

Jayakumar, head of this mission, said that preparations have been started vigorously to establish its own International Space Station by 2035. The 'Space Docking' test is an important step towards achieving that goal. The chaser and the target, both the spacecraft, will reach the same point (about 470 km) at the same altitude after traveling the same distance at the same speed.
