Uttar Pradesh - In a profound loss for the spiritual community, Acharya Satyendra Das, the 85-year-old chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. His passing marks the end of an era, as he had been a guiding force in the temple’s rituals and traditions since 1992.
Acharya Das was admitted to the hospital on February 3 after suffering a severe brain stroke. Despite intensive medical care, his condition remained critical due to complications from diabetes and hypertension. The severity of the brain hemorrhage ultimately led to his demise.
His journey as the chief priest began in a time of great historical significance. Over the decades, he remained a steadfast spiritual figure, overseeing temple rituals and guiding devotees with his deep knowledge of Vedic scriptures.
