Unprecedented Security Measures in Place for Delhi CMs Oath Taking Ceremony

Delhi- In anticipation of the oath-taking ceremony of Delhi's newly elected Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, the city has been fortified with an extensive security apparatus. Over 25,000 police personnel, supplemented by more than 15 companies of paramilitary forces, have been deployed to ensure the event proceeds without incident. 

The ceremony, scheduled for around 12 PM, is expected to draw a significant audience, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his Cabinet colleagues, and chief ministers from BJP-governed states. With an estimated 50,000 attendees, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their security preparations. 

Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ravindra Yadav highlighted the meticulous planning involved: "The Delhi Police has been preparing for the event for the last two days. Managing traffic and parking around the venue would be challenging due to the high number of vehicles expected to reach there." Delhi Commissioner of Police Sanjay Arora personally reviewed the preparations at the venue to ensure all measures are in place. 

Security protocols include the deployment of commandos, quick reaction teams, PCR vans, and SWAT units at strategic locations. Snipers have been positioned on nearby high-rise buildings to monitor any suspicious activity. Additionally, AI-based facial recognition CCTV cameras have been installed to provide real-time surveillance across the venue. 

To manage the anticipated influx of attendees and dignitaries, multiple layers of barricades have been erected, and only authorized individuals will be granted access to the immediate vicinity of the event. A comprehensive traffic plan has been implemented, with diversions and restrictions in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM on Thursday. Key areas affected include Subhash Park T-Point, Raj Ghat, Delhi Gate, ITO, Ajmeri Gate, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Bhabhuti Marg-DDU Marg Red Light, and the Jhandewalan roundabout. 

Commuters are encouraged to utilize public transportation to alleviate potential congestion and are advised to park only in designated areas. Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any unusual or suspicious activities to the police immediately. This event marks the Bharatiya Janata Party's return to power in Delhi after a 26-year hiatus, following their victory over the Aam Aadmi Party in the recent assembly elections. Rekha Gupta, a first-time MLA, has been chosen as the Leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly and is set to be sworn in as the city's ninth Chief Minister. 

Given the high-profile nature of the ceremony and the presence of numerous dignitaries, the Delhi Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, is committed to ensuring a safe and orderly event. Residents and attendees are requested to cooperate with security protocols and remain patient amidst the heightened security measures.
